On a less melancholic note, I thought id share with my movie watching exploits..u know , now that i'm more or less already hated for having completed a majority of my exams and having a bit of time on my hands..
Coz i am so bad at recalling the movies i had once reminded myself to make a point of watching, i often end up just rewatching old favourites, and recommending them to people with more fervor than i did b4 hehe..terrible way to re-enforce ur own opinion..An example is of
Wall Street (1987) which i watched Jana and was in sheer delight recapturing Oliver Stones(Platoon, emm cant remember his other flicks) portrayall of the Unmitigated capitalistic engine of greed that was the aermican economy in the 80's. Incase u have still have not even the slightest inkling to see it, this is the role i Michael Douglas won his Oscar from, playing the wealthy high-rolling investor and Charlie Sheen putting on a great performance. I absolutely LOVe this flick. highly recommended.
me and my ol school approach, I decided to see 'one flew over the cukoos nest'. This flick is hailed as one the all time greatest movies, and performances of Jack nicholson, so i thought hey..wacha i see what all the frenzy is all about. Even On my ka 7 inch tv and vcr borrowed from Chris, this was still an amazing story. Simple, and very well acted. anyone who considers themselves a movie buff, tafadhali - must watch. the flick apparently swpt the 1975 Oscars..Best actor, best actress, Best adapted screnplay, best picture! It was kinda cool to see Danny devito in his younger day with hair! I feel like i wouldve enjoyed this more if hadnt recieved so many interrupting phonecalls, but hey there a lesson learnt.
Anyway..I have no aspiring hopes to be a movie critic relax..i jus enjoy a good ol fashioned flick *beyond* the cinema once in a while thats all(read: ching ching or lack thereof!). Try it sometime.
Big up to Nduta, wambui for blogging! thats the spirit..
