Maasai hip hop?

Just when i thought kenyan hip hop had it made...two word for all those budding artists: DISTRIBUTION CHAIN!!!

this tz hip-hop group xplastaz is going to make it BIG. mark my words nameless, wahu, neccessary noize. I mean i havent even heard their music, but man their marketing is off the hook. peep the link
muone.

To me the formula for internaional acclaim(and the the riches) for kenyan artistes is simple:
exploit popoluar native culture and seamlessly fuse it with an pervasive music genre and viola..u have a HIT concept. need mathematical proof > check it out:

LUO culture + urban hiphop = GidiMaji
= arguably most succesful kenyan hiphop/rap group

Zulu culture + smooth Jazz = Wes
= Kama humjui tafadhali fanya research and chanuka by force(Buy his CD ..amazing)

Thus the conlcusion of my hypothesis:
Maasai culture + underground hiphop (+ good distribution +marketing ) = Xplastaz = HIT.

Havent even heard their music yet.
